Closed for the Eclipse


All of human history fell to earth today

And forced us to view ourselves indirectly

challenged our sane observations

and brought back the echo of drumbeats

deep within the caves where we once took refuge

brought back the caustic memories

of how the politics of light flaunted our

pretentious control of the universe.


All of human history fluctuated briefly, brightly,

and made us all small again.

Showed us we are common,

bound to a chain that stretches across time.

We saw reflected in the bright silence;

In the depth of that dark peace

What makes us brief and naked

and ready to dance across the corona
