How to be a Poet

Creativity demands some scars; comedy begins with pain

An actor plays a perfect part to avoid himself again

Public speaking is a fallacy; you’re just talking to yourself

The audience intently listening for a reflection of itself

The stage is paved with lifelong trauma

Transformed into a rhythmic drama

With some pen and paper magic

That doesn’t make it seem quite tragic

As if felt when it first battered you

Something honest and something true

Some bloody, private past unheard

That you have transformed into words
